meet the designer / maker

Hi there,

I’m Alicia Doyle and I have over 17 years under my belt as an interior designer, spanning across residential and commercial design sectors both locally and abroad.

In search of a quieter pace, I relocated from Sydney to beautiful Newcastle in 2017 where I am raising my 2 little loves with my darling husband.

At some point since the birth of my first child, I realised I had outgrown the corporate environment, meetings in overly air-conditioned board rooms, the volume of construction waste and fast pace of the commercial world. My creativity was getting stifled, and I knew there had to be a better fit for me doing something more fulfilling.

After a bit of (actually a lot of) soul searching, I decided it was time to focus on my passion for creating!

I’ve sourced vintage and antique artworks from around the world and plan to do very limited runs of the pieces to keep them feeling special. I also stumbled on light making which allows me to use the fabrics I've coveted all the years designing interiors.

The pieces are designed and made by me in my teeny tiny garden studio here in Newcastle’s inner west - usually while I’m getting my fix of Fleetwood Mac tunes (or lately it’s been Taylor Swift!) I am in the zone and in my happy place, creating these pieces for you. I have been sewing since I was 4 and trained in garment production and millinery prior to doing my interior design degree some 17 years ago, so rest assured these pieces are made to last.

I hope you enjoy styling with these beauties as much as I enjoyed dreaming them up for you.

Alicia x

I was always searching for artworks, textiles, soft lighting and tapestries for my client projects and I got frustrated by lack of availability in Australia (as well as the enormous price tags) which lead me to create my own vintage inspired pieces. I’m not a fan of mass production and the thought of landfill keeps me awake at night so I’ve made these pieces slowly and sustainably, from natural materials and fibres, with no nasties, glues or chemicals – just organic linens, cottons, dyes and FSC certified timber.
