Ramble Interiors was born from a lifelong love of textiles and a deep belief that the things we bring into our homes should be made with care, intention, and a little bit of soul.
With 17 years of experience as an interior designer, along with studies in garment production and millinery, Alicia has spent her career learning how to design beautiful things; and how to make them well.
From Design to Finished Piece
Every Ramble Interiors piece begins as a design in my studio, where ideas take shape surrounded by fabric swatches, sketches, and the occasional cup of tea. Each design is then printed in Melbourne by skilled artisans, before being shipped back to me for hand-finishing right here in Newcastle.
That final stage — the hand-finishing — is where the magic happens. It's where each piece becomes truly one of a kind. I work in small batches, which means every item is given the time and attention it deserves. These are limited edition pieces, not mass-produced goods.
Materials That Matter
I'm particular about what goes into my work. Every piece is made from ethical, sustainable, natural materials — because what we put in our homes matters just as much as how it looks.
- 100% linen — breathable, durable, and beautifully textured
- Tasmanian oak rods — sustainably sourced and naturally beautiful
- Beeswax finish — a natural, non-toxic way to protect and enhance the timber
- Jute rope — strong, natural, and full of rustic charm
You'll never find harmful glues or synthetic shortcuts in my work. Just honest materials, thoughtfully combined.

Apartment Renovation
Three Birds Renovations chose our Vaucluse ivory shade, petite brass fixtures and Alice shade for their 'Petite Pad' apartment—a stylish inner-city Sydney renovation that brings together form and function in a compact space.
Bird in Hand
We crafted a set of Provence shades for Bird In Hand's stunning new restaurant at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Hobart, Tasmania. Designed by Georgie Shepherd Interiors and photographed by Adam Gibson.

Krümel Cookies Stockholm
Our Provence lightshades were recently used in the brand new Krumel Cookies store located in Stockholm.
Custom Lightshades
We recently created these beautiful custom lightshades for Cafe Cresida, a colourful sunny cafe in Woollahra, Sydney. Interiors by the very talented Larissa Leigh Interiors.
These shades are made from vintage embroidered tablecloths we sourced at a local antique store and each is unique.

Our Cotswolds saffron 40cm lined shade was used by interior designer Gray Benko in the latest season of TV show Happy To Be Home, a Magnolia network lifestyle show. We love Gray for her fearlesss use of colour and pattern!
Homeworthy House Tour
Our first ever Vintage Tablecloth lightshade was featured in Heather Summers' 600 square foot (tiny!) NYC apartment tour on Homeworthy. It looks so whimsical in her daughters' bedroom.

Our Cotswolds saffron 50cm lined ruffle light was recently made for Elle Decor A-list Interior Design firm Atelier Davis based in Atlanta USA. We absolutely love Atelier Davis' ability to mix east and west design so beautifully.
